The legend known as Siti Nurbaya and legend Malin Kundang. Estuary on the hill, there is a grave Siti Nurbaya with a bridge that is also called Siti Nurbaya, while in Air Manis beach there is a stone Malin Kundang. This location is relatively crowded tourists visited in the afternoon and again until the evening.
Adityawarman Museum specializes in the history and culture of tribe of Minangkabau and Mentawai.
Several hours from the coast towards the Teluk Bayur (Bay Bayur) there is a beach resort and Caroline called Sikuai Tourism Resort. In the afternoon the beach sometimes skipped a dolphin increase the attractiveness of the tour.
The city is famous Masakan Padang, like curry, rendang, Karupuak Sanjai and Sate Padang. Padang restaurants are in all major cities in Indonesia.
