Mentawai Islands Comprising of 4 large islands, namely Siberut, Sipora, North Pagai and Pagai. Original an unique culture is still found in this area, especially in rural areas where people still live naive. Siberut island located in the sanctuary, where live many rare animals that are not found in other parts of the world such as hoop Mentawai, gibbon and the pygmy endemic Mentawai primates. Waves is quite challenging for the sports Surfing.
Mentawai tribe, is a native of the Mentawai Islands. As Nias tribe and tribe Enggano, they are supporting culture Proto-Malays who settled in the Islands archipelago in the west. Residential areas of Mentawai, than in the Mentawai Island Pagai also in North and South Pagai. This tribe is known as peramu and when you first learned not plant farming. Tradition that is unique to the use of tattoos in sekujur body, associated with social status and role of users.
